Motivation Monday
Life Vest Inside has had the very good fortune of finding writers willing to share their Kindness Stories/Articles with us. One of our special recurring writers is David Jablinowitz, Op-Ed Editor at Jerusalem Post, who is famous for his “bus stories.”
ATTITUDE
I first met Cliff while working with the Leaders of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in the 90s. Cliff and his family have had some extreme challenges. He shares that the article on Attitude had given him much strength. Thank you, Cliff.
I am excited to share some thoughts on ‘Attitude’. We use the term often and not always having it defined. Attitude is one’s ‘outlook’ and is identified by: words, facial expressions, posture, gestures, and body language. Attitude affects health, happiness, and Peace of Mind. A positive Attitude is often friendly and inviting while a negative Attitude is ‘off-putting’.
Story of two morning risers… One person wakes up, looks out the window and exclaims loudly, “Good Morning God!”. Another person awakens, looks out the window and moans, “Good God, Morning”. Same exact morning, just two different people with two different Attitudes. We cannot change the morning; we can only influence how we approach it.
Attitude is one’s “outlook”; a personal perspective of the world which includes beliefs, feelings, values, and disposition.
We can CHOOSE our Attitude, our “outlook”, by controlling our Language! Our thoughts are referred to as our internal language, our self-talk, and we can choose our thoughts! Regardless of the situation, we can select our thoughts.
Our language: what we think, what we say, and how we speak, is a matter of choice, our choice!
