Motivation Monday

Life Vest Inside has had the very good fortune of finding writers willing to share their Kindness Stories with us. One of our special recurring writers is David Jablinowitz, Op-Ed Editor at Jerusalem Post, who is famous for his “bus stories.”

Pay It Forward

Hubby is in Boston with two granddaughters. The closest place to eat (kosher) is over an hour away and too far to expect delivery.
Walking to the boat for their tour, he spies a van with young adults wearing kipot (skullcaps) and eating pizza. He walks over to them, says, “Shalom aleichem,” (“peace be with you,” used as a traditional greeting to a fellow Jew), and asks where they got the pizza.
They reply, “You want some?” The boys give my trio a whole pie, left over from a camp visiting the harbor. A PAY IT FORWARD MOMENT FROM THESE BOYS!
I’ve been inspired to pay it forward (and be aware of others who might be doing that, as in this story) ever since my mother received anonymous money put into our mail slot every week after my father became paralyzed. It helped us to survive.
