Life Vest Inside has had the very good fortune of finding writers willing to share their Kindness Stories with us. One of our special recurring writers is David Jablinowitz, Op-Ed Editor at Jerusalem Post, who is famous for his “bus stories.”

The Blessing of a Bride-To-Be

I was taking a walk just now. A young woman is excitingly telling her friends with whom she is eating outdoors at a restaurant that she’s just become engaged to marry.
I walk by and look toward the commotion. They explain and ask if I’ll take a photo instead of the selfie they were trying.
I oblige. One of the friends asks me: “Is that a mourning beard?”
I nod. The bride-to-be then responds by putting her hands on my head, and blesses me: “May you celebrate many happy occasions!”
She adds: “You know that when a woman getting married gives you a blessing, it always comes true.”

Act of Kindness

Check on a friend today who may need some attention. We all need a reminder sometimes that someone out there really does care.

Positive Affirmation

Today I will remind myself that it’s never too late to pursue a dream or goal that some people may say is crazy.

Kindness Media

The purpose of Dance for Kindness is to show that regardless of the diversity in race, religion, ethnicity, culture and background - kindness is the common thread that ties us all together!
