Motivation Monday's

Life Vest Inside has had the very good fortune of finding writers willing to share their Kindness Stories with us. One of our special recurring writers is David Jablinowitz, Op-Ed Editor at Jerusalem Post, who is famous for his “bus stories.”

Unexpected Kindness

Late this afternoon: taxi driver pulls over to a curb. He comes out of the vehicle, sits on a sidewalk bench, and says: “This day has been far too long. I am so worn down.”
He even asks me if I could go to a store across the street to get him a juice. I agree, of course.
When I come back, a young man is asking the driver if he can take him to pick up his child from an after-school group. “My wife took the car and my child is waiting,” the young man stresses.
The taxi driver had a very creative solution. He says to the father: “Here, take my keys. Put on the meter. Get your kid. Pay me when you get back.”
I ask the driver: “You know this man?”
“No,” he replies, rather matter-of-factly.
