Good News
With the recent tragedies taking place around the world, it’s becoming easier than ever for people to fall into the trap of seeing the world and the people in it in a very negative light. It is precisely this reason, that now more than ever, we must remember that kindness, unity, acceptance and love is exactly what we need to dispel those who are rising above to challenge the very essence of humanity.
To borrow the words of Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, from an article I recently read, the only true way to combat negativity is, “Not with cynicism, but with optimism. Not with despair, but with possibility. Not with division, but with unity. Not with exclusion, but with inclusion. Not with fear, but with compassion. Not with indifference, but with love.”
What I’m suggesting is no quick fix. It’s not a magical solution that can take effect with the snap of finger. It’s something that takes patience, that takes courage, that takes trust, that takes belief, that takes vulnerability. But, one thing is for certain – good will always trump evil. More difficult to achieve – YES! But more powerful than you can believe!

There are many times in life when we find ourselves in situations where the challenges we face seem too overwhelming. In “David and Goliath,” Malcolm Gladwell shares stories of how people used their “disadvantages” to help them succeed, and how seemingly impossible obstacles can actually be overcome. After reading this book you’re bound to start seeing the challenges in your life in a whole new light.
